1983Elizabeth May Reed was born Elizabeth Oats in 1896 in Esperance WA to Samuel and Louisa Muad Oats. She spent time in her younger years in Boulder and Brookton before arriving in Subiaco in 1914. Elizabeth married Herbert James Reed at the Church of the Christ in August of 1920. In the interview she discusses living in Subiaco and Shenton Park and what it was like to raise a family in the 1920s and 1930s. She goes on to talk about her involvement with the Church of Christ and the activities she was involved with. Elizabeth spent 63 years in the house her husband built at 118 Barker Road Subiaco.
She also discusses her memoires of life in Subiaco including, Kings Hall, social life, party games, purchase of her home, Church of Christ, first Emu bus, the Depression, New Year's Day at Crawley, camping in Dalkeith, influenza epidemic 1919; King Edward Memorial Hospital, Nicholson Road Hospital, Coolgardie Street Hospital, foster daughter, Bishop Riley's House, Shenton Park Lake
