Rectangular grey metal box which has a central glass dial with a small yellow and red rectangular adhesive label fixed. Has small black plaque beneath glass dial, and brass cord attachment with small section of cord located behind on top.

On small plaque on front "UNDER WATER LOG EQUIPMENT / SPEED INDICATOR - TYPE 1" with "SERIAL NO. 426" made by "RETT PRODUCTS CO." with "VALIDATED / DO NOT REMOVE / MC 14/11" adhesive label.

Contextual information

HMAS Perth (II) was decommissioned in October 1999 and gifted to the City of Albany for a recreational dive wreck; being scuttled on 24 November 2001. Prior to the scuttling, the City removed objects as part of preparing an ‘on-shore’ interpretive centre as per the agreement conditions by the State Government of Western Australia.
