Overview

Features 'The Phantom Swan' painted motif and sign which reads "DOUBLE / BOTTOMS / LABORATORY / KNOCK AND WAIT / INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTS AND FLAMMABLE LIQUID SPECIALIST" behind clear perspex. Below are several warning stickers being 'Flammable Liquid', 'Oxidising Agent 5A', 'Corrosive' and 'Poison', plus has a metal box attached. Has been labelled as the "TANKIES WATER TESTING ROOM" door by HMAS Perth National Association (WA Area) members. On back a small adhesive sticker reads ' Women of Lust'.

Historical information

HMAS Perth (II) was decommissioned in October 1999 and gifted to the City of Albany for a recreational dive wreck; being scuttled on 24 November 2001. Prior to the scuttling, the City removed objects as part of preparing an ‘on-shore’ interpretive centre as per the agreement conditions by the State Government of Western Australia. Has been labelled as the "TANKIES WATER TESTING ROOM" door by HMAS Perth National Association (WA Area) members.
