c. 1850 - 1940A pale yellow coloured piano shaped container, in which the lid lifts. The lid is hinged and there is maroon material lining the inside of the piano.
The container was used to hold jewellery.

Embossed on the base of the box is "MADE IN ENGLAND"
It is made of a material called zylonite which is a brand name for a plastic material similar to celluloid. The material was originally developed as a substitute for ivory and used for items like eyewear, combs, dressing table sets and collar studs.
