BROOCH: BLUE RHINESTONE FILAGREE
c. 1930This brooch comes from the Lipfert home, at 270 York Street, Subiaco, where the family lived from 1910 to 1989. It is a rectangular shape and the metal is in a delicate lattice- like symmetrical pattern, supporting the glass decoration with small clasps. The glass is blue and there is a small circular central piece from which 4 large tear drop shaped pieces radiate in a cross formation. Eighteen small circular pieces of glass complete the pattern, radiating from the ' tear drops' to the edge. Four small metal leaves surround the central glass piece, and the metal edge has an open circular pattern. The clip at back consists of a long pin and small clasp.
