Historical information

Receipt from Armadale Cellars who provided alcohol and other items for the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Societies 1976 Burns Night dinner held in the Armadale District Hall. The event included a variety of soft drinks as well as 6 cartons of beer and only a single bottle of whisky.
The Burns dinner is a celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns and is held near the poets birthday, the 25 January. Burn Dinners or suppers date back to 1801 and traditional feature the reading of Burn's poetry, eating haggis, drinking Scotch whisky and often end with a dance.
