BADGE: WA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY RAILWAY PASS

c. 1915
Overview

Badge featuring a swan on an embossed shield surrounded by the legend 'Legislative Assembly of Western Australia' . The shield is surmounted by a crown to which a ring is attached with a loop passing through to pin it to the wearer's jacket, or to suspend it from a coat-of-arms, similarly surrounded by a scroll carrying the words 'Government Railways of Western Australia'. A twisted rope design finishes the outer edge of badge. Believed to have belonged to H Daglish, Mayor of Subiaco and later MLA. The badge was called the gold pass and entitled the bearer to unlimited travel on WA Government Railways.
