This list of donors to a charity ball in 1978 to raise money for the 1st Group Boy Scouts includes a list of local businesses that were active in the district. Many of these businesses have not left any other record of their existence.
The scouts have operated in the local district since 1910 and in its early years was associated with a number of key community figures. The Scouts and Guides have been involved in many important community events since their formations. They have been involved with local ANZAC Day ceremonies since the 1920s as well as community parades.
