GOLF COURSE VIEWS 1976 AND 1977

1976 - 1977
Overview

These six photographs capture significant changes to the Melville Glades golf course in 1976 and 1977.

1,2. Looking towards the18th hole, the newly constructed lake on hole 17 before being filled with water. Features show the depth of the lake and the plastic liner used to retain the water. (photograph processing date June 1976)

3. Looking over the lake (filled with water) over the green with the fourth fairway in the background. The brick retaining wall besides the green and granite retaining wall on the near side are visible. (photograph processing date June 1976)

4. The 6th tee looking down the fairway with the 7th fairway on the right. The grass coverage on the teeing area is poor. (photograph processing date June 1977)

5, 6. Cleared areas that are suspected to be preparations for the installation of the cyclone boundary fence. Survey pegs can be seen on both photographs. The locations are uncertain. The first may be at the rear of hole number 5. (photograph processing date June 1977)

The photographs were removed from an album where they were adhered to the cardboard backing pages. The album contained several sets of photographs believed to have been taken by Geoff Holmes, MGGC President.
