PHOTOGRAPH: SHOP R. DURACK GROCER 105 ROKEBY ROAD
c. 1910Black and white photograph.
Shop front with part of upper balcony visible. Large sign reads "R. DURACK, GROCER. SWAN BREWERY BOTTLED ALE and STOUT" below balcony. Three men stand on footpath edge, all wearing long aprons. Man in centre is Michael Richard Durack, proprietor. The contents of the shop window can be clearly seen behind and a sign on right hand side reads "City Pharmacy and Drug Store. George Edward Armstrong MDS". A small boy leans against the shop window. He wears a smock top, knee length pants and a large hat. Shop has single window frontage.
Shop has only single window frontage not the double front shown in pictures from 1911 (see P87.61) so this has been dated earlier. JM
A copy of the negative has been made from the original.
