Commemorative Coronation Saucer for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth

Overview

A white circular ceramic dish with two oval pictures, one of King George V and the other Queen Elizabeth in sepia in the base of the dish. On either side of the oval pictures are the flags of England in gold red and blue, and separating the two pictures is a gold and red crown, and underneath the crown is a gold ribbon scroll. Underneath the two pictures is a gold ribbon scroll. The dish has a fluted edge and has a blue rim and a gold trim approximately one centimetre below the rim. Above the base are blue leaves intertwined with a blue ribbon scroll.

Inscriptions and markings

In the gold ribbon scroll underneath the crown in red lettering is "12th MAY 1937". In the gold ribbon scroll underneath the two pictures in red lettering is "H.M. KING GEORGE VI", in the middle scroll is "CORONATION", and in the right scroll is "H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH".

In the blue ribbon scroll in blue lettering is "LOYAL KATANNING".

On the base of the dish stamped in black lettering is "MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR ROGERS LTD. KATANNING".
