Covered with red cloth. Black writing on cover 'The Oxford Reading Books - 1'. One hundred and twenty-eight pages containing twenty short stories and fourteen verses. Illustrated in both black and white, and colour. 'Lartie Whitfield' hand written in black ink on inside left hand cover.
