Christmas Greeting Card
A light beige embossed card with a border of dark blue holly leaves and berries on all edges and Christmas bells in each corner. There is an insert in the centre of the card which is framed with a wavy dark blue border. The insert is a photograph of old buildings, with a two old holden cars parked on the street, along with a bicycle and railway tracks.
The photograph shows the frontage of Richardson's store and the cars parked in the street indicate that the photograph was taken in first half of the 20th Century. Richardson's Store was a well known store in Katanning and had stores in Woodnalling, Gnowangerup, Kojonup, Tambellup, Badgebup,Tambellup, Mt Barker in the early part of the 20th Century.

On the front of the card written in blue ink 'Hearty Christmas Greetings from Katanning W.A.'
In the photograph at the top of the building in written 'Richardson Limited Universal Providers General Importers'. Below this in the banners on the building is written 'Richardson & Co. Limited Drapery Millinery, Grocery & Produce, Quality Footwear' At the side of the building banner is written 'Richardson & Co. Ltd The Footwear Specialists'
On the left inside cover of the card written in blue ink is 'Sincerest Thoughts and ...' and on the right inside cover written in blue ink 'Hearty Good Wishes for Christmas. May Every Joy and Happiness be yours during the coming year'
On the back of the card written in blue ink at the bottom right hand corner is 'H.R.J. Southern Series' and on the back written in pencil is '1/-'
Printed Christmas cards were very popular in the 1950's and 1960's some people having their own cards printed with the names of the family included.
