LEATHER SPLITTER
Leather splitter made of wood, brass and metal.
With two legs W: 2cm x D: 1.5cm x L: 23 cm.
There is a central area of wood L: 7cm x W: 4 cm with metal area and metal clamp adjustment and brass adjustment knob.
Also has a L: 20cm x W: 2.5 cm (broken) timber rail above.
A leather splitter is a device used to split or in some cases shave the thickness of leather down to a preferred weight for a specific project.
A pull-through leather splitter works like a stationary wood plane. You secure the hide, set the blade to your desired thickness, and pull the leather through manually.
