'COOMPATINE'
c. 1890A sepia photograph of a house with a shingle roof, two chimneys and a wooden post fence. There are fourteen people standing in various places in front of the homestead. There is a man seated centrally in the photograph, a man to his left holding a horse and further to the left is a couple holding the hands of a children standing between them and standing in front of a buggy. There are two small children seated on the buggy. The woman are dressed in long dresses, the men are dressed in suits.
The homestead was built in the year 1870. 'Coompatine' is the original homestead of the Haddleton family.

On a label below the photograph typed in black lettering is "'COOMPATINE,'THE ORIGINAL HOMESTEAD OF THE HADDLETON FAMILY was built in the year 1870. This photograph was taken in 1890. The FAMILY GROUP includes Mr and Mrs Tom Haddleton Senior (by buggy) and Sgt. McKenna (seated), the first Police Trooper to be stationed in the district at 'Twontkquillinup' (the place of frogs) known as the Katanning Police Pools. A memorial marks the place where the first police camp stood".
