Historical information

This mug was ‘souvenired’ by Private Harold Talbot DAY 2898 who was born in Footscray, Victoria. Harold collected the mug in the trenches whilst servicing in the Somme region at the Western Front during the war and brought it back to Western Australia in 1919. It shows the ‘souveniring’ that Australian servicemen carried out during the war. This cup was used by Harold’s son until the bottom wore out.
