A light brown identity card with the name "Eileen Edith Haddleton Coompatine Katanning" handwritten on the front.

Historical information

Civilian identify cards were issued to all Australian Citizens during World War Two. Conditions of use were printed on the card. This card was found in the possession of Eileen Haddleton when she died in 2005.

Inscriptions and markings

On the front of the identity card is a black circular stamp with the words "TELEGRAPH OFFICE BUNBURY W.A." around the inner circle, the date inside the circle is not identifiable.

On the back of the identity card is the handwritten signature of "E.E. Handdleton", her address was "'Coompatine' Katanning". The witness signature was "Muriel A. Cruickshank" of "Avon street Katanning"
