The image shows Miss Adelaide Chugg opening the door of the Subiaco Museum in 1975. She is accompanied by Mayor Richards Diggins and Miss. Daglish to her left, and possibly Mr. Roger Daventry to the far right.

The Subiaco Historical Society was formed in 1973. In 1975 the City of Subiaco provided the society with a building for use as a museum. Built in 1911, it was originally used as extra office space and from 1923 until the 1950s as an electrical sub-station.The Historical Society managed the museum until 1994 when it was transferred to the City of Subiaco.
