FOOT STOOL: WALNUT WITH PINK AND PURPLE TAPESTRY AND BEAD CUSHION, CHUGG
c. 1870A small, round, carved wooden foot stool with half-raised tapestry and beaded cushion. The cushion features a cross behind a floral design, with purple, pink and green colours in the tapestry and coloured beads handsewn in. The wood is carved walnut, with a half-raised relief and four curved ingoing legs.
An example of a Victorian era tapestry foot stool. This stool was donated by the Chugg family, who were furniture manufacturers and antique dealers in Subiaco from the 1890s.
