Overview

The Foundation Members honour board recognises the 500 plus members who signed up to join the club in the period 1967 to 1969 before the playing of golf commenced. These people committed three payments of $80 each, made up of two annual subscriptions and a nomination, which formed the financial basis of the club's formation including the course and clubhouse construction.

The honour board was commissioned as part of the Silver (25th) Anniversary celebrations of the club in 1992.

The two attachments show the honour board itself and City of Melville Mayor June Barton with MGGC President Jim Rann during the unveiling ceremony. The board lists the Men (Members) and Ladies (Associates) separately.

The honour board photograph was taken by club member Tom Arnautovic and the unveiling photograph is contained in the album Item 2022.343, donated by Dawn Johnston.
