Overview

This name badge is intended to be worn on clothing. Although its provenance is not known, it was likely used during pennant and other matches involving other clubs so that opposition players could identify their opponent.

The badge is finished in a silver plating background with a patterned border. The lettering is dark green and there is a fluorescent green triangular section between the MGGC and Barabara King lettering.

Historical information

The badge was donated by long term member, Barbara King. Barbara joined MGGC in 1981 and played for several years representing MGGC in pennant and other matches involving other clubs before she resigned in 2004. The exact date of the badge is unknown but is estimated as during the 1970s to 1980s. Photographs of women's pennant teams in the late 1970s and 1980 show some members wearing the same style name badge.
