Historical information

The coronation of King Edward VII took place on August 9, 1902, at Westminster Abbey, London following a postponement due to the King's illness.

Edward VII, the eldest son of Queen Victoria, ascended to the throne on January 22, 1901, after his mother's death. His coronation was initially scheduled for June 26, 1902, but had to be postponed due to an emergency appendectomy that he underwent shortly before the event.
