Stainless steel metal box with lid, containing resuscitator equipment complete with oxygen cylinder and adult disposable single use masks with 7 ft. of sure flow tubing.
A small gas bottle would usually sit in the bottom bracket (missing)

Historical information

These portable devices were used in NSW & Victorian ambulances during the 1970s to resuscitate patients.
The apparatus was also kept for use at swimming pools and other public places.
