Herbert, Violet and children, Basil, Olive, Desmond & Eric arrived in WA on 1st P & 0 Orsova 1909 from Bristol, UK. Parents of Herbert & Olive remained in the UK. On arrival in WA, Herbert tried farming at Torbay from 1909-1911. It failed. Moved to Perth in 1911, where they lived in a succession of homes in Claremont & Swanbourne. before moving to 29 Davies Road, Claremont from 1918 to 1984.
