CLEANING CLOTH FAHEY'S GARAGE

Overview

Rectangular corn coloured soft cloth edged with red overlocking stitching. Features the image of a 6 volt Exide battery in the centre of the cloth and below has [FAHEY'S GARAGE / Armadale / Phone : 2128].
Around the other three sides has the slogans: [When It's An EXIDE You Start], [Still Keeps Going When the Rest Have Stopped], and [EXIDE The Long Life Battery].
All of the text and images are in black.

Historical information

Fahey's Garage was on the north east corner of Jull Street and Third road. The site had previously been JD Davidson, Blacksmith & Wheelwright (c1910-c1920s). Fahey's garage ran from c1930-1970s. It was run for many years by Ned Fahey. The site was demolished c1970 to make way for a shopping centre. In the 2000's, the shopping centre was demolished to make way for new shops. In 2005, 'Subway', a sandwich takeaway franchise, opened on the same corner. The cloth was picked up by Mrs Elsie richings after a visit ot the garage.
