TIGER OF A COURSE FOLDER
1987In the late 1980s the club took pride in setting out the course on the 'Tiger Tees'. The tiger tees represent the course played at its maximum length.
The purpose of this folder is unknown, but it appears to have been for a special event. The course was obviously set up for members to challenge themselves on a championship length course, the same setup that the Melville Glades Open was played at in that era. Each hole on the associated scorecard (see Item 2020.149) was likened with holes on other famous courses in the world.
The use of the term Tiger bears no relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods whose career spanned a much later period.
The donor of the folder, Kevin Blacker, indicates that he played in the event dated 8/5/1987.
