GENERAL MEETINGS 1976
1976Three General Meetings were held in 1976.
The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting on 26th February included:
- Management reports which mention:
- The construction of a 6 foot Cyclone fence along Beasley Road and up past the 14th hole and almost as far as the 5th hole to be soon erected
- The club was to host the 1976 State Amateur Open and State Mixed Foursomes events.
- The appointment of a new Head Greenkeeper
- Overseeding of the fairways with Kentucky Blue Grass
The proceedings of the Semi-Annual General Meeting on 22nd July included:
- Withdrawal of a motion by the Council of Management that a levy of Members to finance the completion of the boundary fence.
- Committee reports from Finance, House, and Match and various questions and answers
- The Course Report highlighted:
- Creation of a green nursery
- Completion of 3rd green alterations to provide better drainage and add character.
- Construction of alterations to the 17th and 17th holes
- Control of kikuyu, crabgrass, and Onehunga (Bindi)
- Consideration towards the purchase of a mechanical bunker raking machine
- Miscellaneous general business
The proceedings of the General Meeting on 25th November included:
- Appointment and Election of Office Bearers and Councillors for 1977
- A motion to impose a 7.5% levy on subscription and nomination fees to fund the completion of the boundary fence was approved.
- A motion to increase subscription fees was approved.
- Various general business including discussion on:
- Imposing a bar levy
- Installing fairway bunkers
