Contextual Information

Early 1920s, commercially printed; a similar design was used across Australia.
District rolls of honour and honour boards were created through local efforts as a means of acknowledging the commitment of the community to Australia’s armed forces.
Which names were included was decided by those creating the roll. This could vary from including only those who were born in the town, or those who were living in the town when they enrolled and even those who became associated with the town after the war.
The names on this honour roll do not completely match those on the honour board in the Toodyay Memorial Hall.
