GENERAL MEETINGS 1980

Three General Meetings were held in 1980.
The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting on 25th February included:

• Reports from the Treasurer, Course, Match, House, Juniors, and President.
• The Course report highlighted the restructuring of seven greens following advice from several authorities with the greens due to be open at the start of the season. The work has been supported by the construction of a large turf nursery. A motion to ratify the Course plan proposed by Austro Asian Golf Services was carried.
• The House report mentions the purchase of various items including dining room chairs and tables and pool tables, with plans to erect a pergola with outdoor furniture.
• The Junior report highlighted the large increase in membership, partly due to the Graham Marsh Junior Golf Foundation and various junior competitions.
• The President commented on the huge success of hosting the WA PGA Championship and the publication of the course alteration report by consultants.
• The resignation of Rocky Galin and the appointment of Ian Platt as Managing Secretary.
• The Course Chair advised of various spraying programs for Cut worm, Onehunga and Crabgrass.
• Many changes to the Constitution were presented and approved.
• Council’s proposal for fee increases was carried.
• Various general business

The proceedings of the General Meeting on 31st July included:

• Various general discussion
• Notice given for two constitutional changes:
• Cut-off for payment of subscriptions
• Honorary membership
• The Council recommended that future subscription notices would include an optional charity levy

The proceedings of the General Meeting on 2nd December included:

• Election of Officers and Councillors
• The constitutional amendments discussed at the previous meeting on 31st July were approved.
• A motion to increase fees was approved.
• A letter from Mr V.E. Bennett to give Honorary Membership to the six Founders who have not been given life membership was discussed.
• Various general business
