This poster complements other 1988 World Youth Series memorabilia held in the Baseball WA Museum & Archives collection, namely a program, pennant and commemorative medallion from the series.
The Australian team included Western Australians Travis Nicolau, Heath Gillard and Assistant Coach Bob Grove.
The poster was donated to the Baseball WA Museum by Lyall Barwick.
1988 was Australia's bicentennial year and many major sporting events were held throughout the country. This poster has historic significance and is an aid to research into the1988 baseball series by way of the amount of information it displays. It is rare and in excellent condition and has fine provenance, as the donor himself was an Australian junior/youth baseball representative during that period.
