AL HOWARD CORRESPONDENCE
1966 - 1975This item contains the scanned hardcopy pages of correspondence with Al Howard, the inaugural MGGC course designer. The correspondence covers the period 1966 to 1975.
The original documents were stored in separate files for inwards and outwards correspondence. The scanned file attachments to this item reflect this arrangement. Note that the inward/outward correspondence does not have a one to one relationship in all circumstances. Also, the page sizes vary from one item to the next which would make it difficult to directly print them out.
The content commences in 1966 where Howard outlines his course design experience, through to 1975 when he advises on changes to holes 17 and 18, reversing their order from par 5 / 3 to par 3 / 5, and discussions about other various future course alterations.
The original documents have been poorly maintained and many are showing the signs of damage due to moisture and insects.
