The two buildings in the foreground on the right hand side of the photograph would be the land agent buildings, whilst the two storey building in the background is "Rogers" building, there is a sign on the side of the building which reads "W.J. ROGERS". The building on the left of the photograph faces Clive Street.

On the front of the postcard in the bottom right hand corner in white typed lettering is "KATANNING 1901".
On the back of the postcard printed in black lettering is “TARJETA POSTAL POST CARD BILHETE POSTAL” and below this line "POSTKARTE CARTE POTALE LEVELEZO-LAP. ", then "UNION POSTAL UNIVERSEALE". Below this last line the card has two columns and above the left hand column is "COMMUNICATION" and above the right hand column is the heading 'ADDRESS ONLY”.
On the back of the postcard handwritten in black lettering under the "Communication" heading is "Bygone katanning as it was when we arrived here 8 years ago. Yours Fred". Underneath the "ADDRESS ONLY" heading is "Miss M.W. Vine London".
This photograph shows the very early buildings of Katanning that were built on Clive Street.
