Katanning Roads Board
c. 1896A sepia photograph of a group of men dressed in suits, some are wearing ties. There are five seated men and four men standing behind them. The photograph is taken in the entrance to a building. All of the men either have a moustache and or beard. One man standing in the back is wearing a watch chain attached to his vest and is holding a pen. The man on his left is holding a notebook open and is also holding a pen. The photograph is mounted on cream embossed cardboard.
This photograph is the first known photo of the Katanning Roads Board, the Board started in 1889.

Below the photograph is a faded purple stamp which reads "NIXON ? FREMANTLE, W.A."
On the back of the photograph hand written in blue ink is "Front Row. Michael Cronin J.P. Tom Haddleton Fisher Crosby. (Chairman) R.S Taylor and Tom Garstone Back Row. Elijah Bell, L.S. Hart (Pressman). T.H. Stainsbury (Sec). Pat Garrity Katanning Roads Board 1896"
