Above the red ribbon scroll on the left is "1837" and on the right is "1897". In the ribbon scroll in red lettering is "In Commemoration of 60 Years Glorious Reign".

On the back of the plate in a red oval shape is "From a Photograph by Mr A. Bassons", in the centre is "MB" overlaid with an anchor and below is "Made in Austria"
