Francis Allender (c1829-1900) was a tenant farmer at Central Greenough.
William Knight (1821-80) was convicted of larceny in 1856 and sent to WA two years later on the Lord Raglan (convict no.4962). He had a fractious life in the colony and died in the Fremantle Prison hospital.

This is the only note associated with William Knight in the Maley Mill & Store Archives, and provides evidence of him working at Greenough.
As the order is for a trowel, it is likely Allender was undertaking some building work at that time.
