Railway Crossing at Intersection of Clive Street and Austral Terrace
c. 1965A black and white photograph of a train with wagons stopped at the railway crossing whilst there are vehicles in both directions driving across the railway line. There are vehicles parked on both sides of the street and many brick buildings down both sides of the street. On the left hand side of the street there is a railway signal platform, and there are two bank buildings visible. On the left in a two storey building is the ANZ and on the right is the R & I Bank . There are no trees along the main street. In the foreground of the picture can be seen railway tracks coming in to the main railway tracks. Further in the background in the very distance at the very end of the main street a two storey house is still visible.
Clive Street runs perpendicular to the railway line and Austral Terrace runs parallel to the railway line. The photograph is taken from the Katanning Flour Mill.
