Historical information

This second place certificate was awarded to M. A. Skeets (meant to be Skeet) for their submission of standard white hen eggs at the 1942 'Patriotic Kelmscott Agricultural Show'. The show was held at the Kelmscott Showgrounds on 17 October and was opened by the Lieutenant-Governor Sir James Mitchell. Money raised at the show was donated to a variety of patriotic funds set up to assist both the Australian war effort as well as prisoners of war and war refugees.
The award was collected by Kim Fletcher in 1998 for a display at the Kelmscott Show to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Was later exhibited at History House museum for same event.
