CARROLL, Ronald Francis OBE

1905 - 1986
Ron Carroll was a prominent figure in the formation of MGGC.

He was instrumental in the club securing a lease on the land on which the course and clubhouse were constructed and was appointed as the initial Patron of the club. He remained club Patron until he pased away.

More information can be read on his life and contribution to the club by referring to the associated items, in particular, the Golden Anniversary publication. Another associated item is the speech read by Max Hannah at the inaugural Ron Carroll Trophy event in 2017. In that speech Max said that Ron died in 1985, but the 1986 Annual Report states that he died in that year.

This link to an item in the Collections WA website shows Ron performing his role as the Mayor of the City of Melville: https://collectionswa.net.au/items/72777d99-4837-40bb-aa66-596f9cdce976
