Overview

Album: Jolimont Historical Images Album 3, Don Gimm
Image: A black and white photograph of the Blue Bell Ice Cream cart, and horse. A man is seen leaning on the side of the cart while another man sits inside. The arm of a third man standing on the other side of the cart is seen to the right of the first man. Buildings, a fence and a street light are seen in the background.
A label beneath the photograph in album reads:
'Anyone for ice cream? Before the advent of refridgeration the Blue Bell Ice Cream cart would peddle ice cream to the people of Jolimont for one penny a cup (commonly called a penny lick), or for that extra treat, a jug or basin full for sixpence. Made from pure cream, Wally Flood remarked, ''it sure was a lot of beating''.'
