CSR Golden Syrup is and has historically been made in Australia from Australian sugarcane. While Colonial Sugar Refining Company (now CSR) was founded in Sydney in 1855, production of the syrup likely began around 1890 at their Yarraville refinery in Victoria. Today CSR sugar products are produced at The Racecourse Refinery in Mackey Queensland. CSR limited is now branded under Goodman Fielder/Wilmar Sugar.
CSR Golden Syrup is a staple in Australian kitchens and a key ingredient for Anzac biscuits..
