Contextual Information

Born in Mackay, Queensland, 1874, William Wilkie enlisted 2 August 1915 at Fremantle, Western Australia. He joined the 28th Battalion in 1915 transferring to the 16th Infantry Battalion in 1915. He was killed in action in France, 15 June 1918. Wilkie was a member of the Perth Rifle Club team that won the 1909 Hoad Shield (Item P2022.6).
