Glove Stretcher
c. 1850 - 1940A pale yellow tool with two pointed arms joined by a hinge, the tool resembles a pair of long-nosed pliers or scissors. When the hinged one end is squeezed together the two other ends open.
A glove stretcher is a tool used primarily for leather gloves to stretch the fingers, making them easier to put on and helping to maintain their shape after washing. The user inserts the narrow end into a glove's finger and squeezes the handles, which causes the pointed ends to spread apart and stretch the leather. This item belonged to Wally Haddleton, father of the donor.
