Hat Pin Holder
c. 1850 - 1940A long pale yellow cylindrical container that has a lid down about a third of the length of the cylinder which can be pulled off.
This item belonged to Wally Haddleton, father of the donor.

Details
This long container was used to hold hat pins. It was historical used in the Victorian era, when women would save their hair to make hair rats (a type of hair padding) or for memorial jewellery.
It is made of a material called zylonite which is a brand name for a plastic material similar to celluloid. The material was originally developed as a substitute for ivory and used for items like eyewear, combs, dressing table sets and collar studs.
