Overview

A long pale yellow boat shaped tool which fits inside a similarly shaped container. It has a oblong curved handle on the top of the tool.

Historical information

This item belonged to Wally Haddleton, father of the donor. The top half of the item has material along its entire shape, it is used to file nails, hence the curved shape.

Contextual information

It is made of a material called zylonite which is a brand name for a plastic material similar to celluloid. The material was originally developed as a substitute for ivory and used for items like eyewear, combs, dressing table sets and collar studs.
