Overview

Front: The photograph features Alma Grundmann standing at the rear end of the cart, with a cabbage in her hands and a basket at her feet. There is no pavement, but a grass verge comes down to the road. The horse 'John' is looking away towards the row of houses on the opposite side of the street.

Reverse: Typewritten inscription: '1920's, 'John' the Chinaman's horse and cart with Miss Alma Grundmann buying fruit & vegetables. His market garden was by the river at Nedlands.'
