VASE: METAL WITH WOOD STAND
a) Round semi-circular metal vase, narrowing to a neck beneath. This flares out into a base which stands on an irregular scalloped design giving nine small legs. The top of the vase is regularly scalloped and the entire outer surface elaborately decorated with Chinese dragons and scrolls. The surface has been coated with some kind of silver which can be seen as a loose surface coat on the underside of the base.
b) Round, polished wood stand with a flat top, small half-round band below and standing on four small legs cut from main wood. Donor states bowl was bought by her mother, Mrs Edith Bannear, in 1908, second hand.
