Overview

Two General Meetings were held in 1999.

The 1999 Fees appear in the minute book.

The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting conducted on 31st March included:

    • After the welcome, the Chairman suspended standing orders to report on the proposal for alterations to the Clubhouse.
    • Receipt of the accounts for the past year.
    • Receipt of the reports from all the Board members and General Manager with minimal interaction
    • Appointments were announced for all the Board positions with just one nominee for each position. Elections and appointments for members of management committees followed.
    • General Business on several matters including questions related to the proposed clubhouse redevelopment.

The notice for the Special General Meeting on 14th September was provided in Newsletter August 1999 (Item 2022.200) which also includes detail of the project.

Following an overview of the project by the architect, Mr Taylor, and the project’s finance by Director of Finance, two motions were moved:

    • “That approval be granted for the Club to borrow the sum of %3,000,000 from the City of Melville …”
    • “That a Building Levy be imposed on members in each of the years 2000 – 2004 …”

Both motions were passed.

The minutes have been scanned from the hardcopy book covering the period 1996 to 2010 (Item 2023.96).
