MGGC MEMBERSHIP RECOGNITION POLICY 2002
2002 - 2003This Policy was derived by the MGGC Board of Management and finalised in 2002. It defined a systematic process to determine levels of recognition of voluntary service by members who served in positions of management.
Three levels were defined:
1. Certificate of Recognition
2. Certificate of Outstanding Service
3. Life Membership
Points were awarded based on a set of tables of the positions and years of service.
The system was dependent on a membership database which was maintained at the time by Doug Byers, a previous Finance Director. Hardcopy reports from this database are available in the file registered as Item 2022.408 Club Officials and Staff Records.
A number of certificates for Recognition and Outstanding Service were awarded using the Policy in the following two years. There were no Life Memberships awarded using the system.
The Policy appears to have quickly faltered, possibly due to the difficulty in maintaining the database of members, but also other likely deficiencies in the process.
