Overview

The sepia photograph is of display quality and shows the subject's head and shoulders only. The subject wears a uniform of a short sleeved shirt with two pockets and a tie and a broad-brimmed hat with a badge on the headband at the front. She is wearing the khaki summer uniform of the Women's Auxilary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) with the RAAF other ranks cap badge on her hat.

Princess Laurel Balding served in the Women's Auxiliary Australia Air Force (WAAAF) as a telephone operator from June 1942 to October 1945.
