FACE MASK

Overview

Home-sewn face mask. Item is stitched together using the running stitch technique into a rectangular shape, with soft, black drawstrings and knotted ties. The mask has an expanded 'pouch' section running horizontally across the centre to accommodate the contours and features of the wearer.The front is dark brown with a colourful and busy floral design, and the underside is light brown with a geometric and floral pattern.

Historical information

Hand-sewn mask made by Barbara Walker in March 2020. Made for her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jane Walker, for use during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. Worn by Jeff and Jane Walker between mid-March to mid-April 2020 during shopping trips to Kelmscott Woolworths, Armadale Shopping City, Armadale Central Shopping Centre, Bunnings Armadale, and occasionally to work at the Armadale Library.
